The big point from this matchup that people will no doubt be focusing on going ahead is the point deduction that was given to PVZ.

This loss of a point took place in between winning rounds for the former UFC veteran with Paige VanZant having won the first and third rounds on the scorecards.

In the first Power Slap event outside of the United States, both VanZant and Dodson showcased their determination and durability. PVZ seemed unfazed when she stood in place to bare the brunt of a smack from her adversary.

Dodson also had opportunities during their matchup to showcase her dogged determination and toughness in this sort of framework.

The finish saw neither win and get their hand raised with VanZant's Power Slap record shifting to 1-0-1, while this marked the combat sports debut for Dodson who has a prior base in wrestling as well as jiu jitsu.

It seems like Paige VanZant is largely putting her MMA days behind her but the former BKFC combatant seems to have future Power Slap goals as well as boxing aspirations.
